Terms of Use
This document is provided in English. 本文件以英文提供。本書は英語で提供されています。
1. About these terms
Metaxy City is operated by Meta Loop Design Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number [to be confirmed], with its registered office at [to be confirmed] (“Meta Loop”, “we”, “us”, “our”).
These terms explain the rules for using Metaxy City, including the website at metaxy.world, its regional sites such as london.metaxy.world, and the experiences inside them (together, the “Service”). By applying for an account, or by using the Service, you agree to these terms. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we use your personal data.
If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
2. What Metaxy City is
Metaxy City is an interactive virtual city where people can explore digital districts and meet AI characters (“AI residents”). The Service is currently offered as an early preview, so some features are incomplete, experimental or may change.
- AI residents are not real people. They are computer-generated characters. What they say is produced automatically and does not represent the views of Meta Loop or any real person.
- The city is fictional. News items, population figures, histories, legends, businesses and statistics shown in Metaxy City are created for entertainment and are not real-world information. Real place names are used for setting only and do not imply any connection with, or endorsement by, the owners of those places.
3. Who can use Metaxy City
- You must be at least 16 years old to apply for an account or use the Service.
- You may only hold one account, and it is for your personal use. You must not share it or let anyone else use it.
- The information you give us must be true, accurate and up to date.
4. Applications and passes
You can apply for a residency account or request a 24-hour pass.
- Every application is reviewed by a member of our team. We will email you to confirm we have received it and again when a decision has been made.
- We may accept or decline an application at our discretion, for example to manage capacity during the preview or to keep the city safe. Where we decline, we may not always be able to give detailed reasons.
- A 24-hour pass starts the first time you sign in after approval and ends 24 hours later. When it ends you can request a new pass or apply for residency.
- Approval gives you a personal, revocable, non-transferable right to use the Service under these terms. It does not give you any ownership of the Service or any part of it.
5. Your account
- Keep your password secret and do not use it for other services. Tell us straight away at info@meta-loop.co.uk if you think someone else has accessed your account.
- You are responsible for activity on your account unless it happened because of our failure to keep the Service secure.
- You can ask us to update or delete your account details at any time — see our Privacy Policy.
6. Price and virtual items
The Service is currently free of charge.
Credits, cash, visas, gifts and other items shown inside Metaxy City are virtual items with no monetary value. They cannot be sold, exchanged for money or transferred outside the Service, and they may be changed or reset during the preview.
If we introduce paid features in future, we will tell you the price and the terms that apply before you pay, and your legal rights as a consumer — including any right to cancel — will apply.
7. Rules of the city
Metaxy City is shared by AI residents and people from many countries. When you use the Service you must not:
- break the law, or help or encourage anyone else to do so;
- post or send anything that is illegal, threatening, abusive, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit or violent, or that sexualises anyone under 18 in any way;
- bully, stalk, intimidate or impersonate anyone, including Meta Loop staff;
- share anyone else’s personal information without their permission;
- send spam, advertising or chain messages, or use the Service for commercial purposes without our written permission;
- try to make AI residents produce harmful, illegal or misleading content, or present AI-generated content as statements by a real person;
- upload or transmit viruses or other harmful code, or interfere with, disrupt or overload the Service;
- try to get unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts or our systems, or get around any security or access controls;
- copy, scrape or extract data or content from the Service by automated means, or reverse engineer it, except where the law allows you to.
If you break these rules we may remove content, restrict features or suspend or close your account (see section 12).
8. Your content
“Your content” means anything you create or share in the Service, such as messages, your profile and the information in your application.
- You keep ownership of your content. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, store, display and process it only as needed to run, maintain and improve the Service. This licence ends when your content is deleted, except for copies we must keep by law or that are held in backups for a limited time.
- You are responsible for your content and must have the right to share it.
- We may review, hide or remove content that breaks these terms or the law.
9. AI residents and AI content
- Conversations with AI residents are for entertainment. Responses may be inaccurate, incomplete or unexpected, and are not professional, financial, legal, medical or other advice.
- Please do not share sensitive personal information (for example health, financial or identity details) with AI residents.
- How we handle your messages and other information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
10. Our intellectual property
The Service and everything in it — including the city, buildings, characters, artwork, software, text, sound, the Metaxy name and logo — belong to Meta Loop or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Apart from the right to use the Service under these terms, you are not given any rights in them. Third-party materials are used under their own licences.
11. Availability and changes
- Because the Service is in preview, we may update, change, suspend or withdraw features. Where a change is significant we will try to give you reasonable notice.
- We aim to keep the Service available, but it may sometimes be interrupted, for example for maintenance or because of problems outside our control.
- The Service needs a modern browser and a reasonably fast internet connection. Some experiences download large files and may use mobile data.
12. Suspending or closing accounts
- You can close your account at any time by emailing info@meta-loop.co.uk.
- We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if we must do so by law, or to protect other users or the Service. Where we can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. We may also close the Service or end the preview by giving you reasonable notice.
13. Our responsibility to you
If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your legal rights, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. You can get advice about your rights from Citizens Advice.
- If we fail to comply with these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our failure or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable.
- We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for breach of your legal rights in relation to digital content.
- If digital content we supply damages a device or other digital content belonging to you because we did not use reasonable care and skill, we will either repair the damage or pay you compensation.
- The Service is for personal, non-commercial use. We have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.
14. Reports and complaints
If you see content or behaviour in Metaxy City that you think is illegal or breaks these terms, or if you want to complain about the Service or about a decision we have made (for example removing your content or restricting your account), email info@meta-loop.co.uk with the subject “Report” or “Complaint”, and include as much detail as you can.
We will acknowledge your message, review it promptly and tell you what we have decided. We aim to respond within 14 days.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example to reflect new features or changes in the law. If we make a significant change, we will tell you by email or in the Service at least 30 days before it takes effect, unless the change is needed sooner for legal or safety reasons. If you do not agree to the change, you can close your account before it takes effect.
16. Law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in Scotland or Northern Ireland respectively.
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later. You may not transfer your rights under these terms to anyone else.
